Your music library, finally tagged right.

TrackTidy identifies every song by its actual audio — not its messy filename — then fixes the artist, title, album and year and bulk-renames the files. Hundreds of tracks, cleaned up in minutes.

The problem

Ripped, downloaded, inherited — and a total mess.

Half your tracks are “01 - track.mp3” or tagged “Unknown Artist.” Players show garbage. Sorting is hopeless. Doing it by hand across thousands of files is a weekend you'll never get back.

TrackTidy listens to each file, matches it against a database of millions of recordings, and proposes the correct tags — you just review and apply.

01 track.mp3 The Beatles - Hey Jude.mp3
brown eyed girl.mp3 Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl.mp3
elvis_jailhouse_rk.mp3 Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock.mp3
Mamma Mia.mp3 ABBA - Mamma Mia.mp3
aretha respect.mp3 Aretha Franklin - Respect.mp3
Why it works

Accurate because it actually listens.

Most taggers guess from the filename. TrackTidy fingerprints the audio, so it's right even when the name is useless.

Acoustic fingerprinting

Identifies songs by their sound via AcoustID & MusicBrainz — not by hopeful filename parsing.

Bulk rename, your way

Rename files from a template like {artist} - {title} with a live preview. Optional — tags-only is fine too.

One-click undo

Every run is journaled. Don't like a batch? Undo the whole thing — tags and filenames — instantly.

Review before you commit

Confidence bars and status pills show what's certain and what needs a look. Nothing changes until you say so.

Native, premium UI

A fast, dark, keyboard-friendly Mac app. Drag a folder in, filter, fix, done. No web wrapper, no clutter.

Private & self-contained

Your files never leave your Mac — only anonymous fingerprints are looked up. Everything's bundled; nothing to install.

How it works

Three steps. Minutes, not weekends.

1

Point it at a folder

Drag in a messy music folder — or your whole library. TrackTidy scans and fingerprints every track in parallel.

2

Review the matches

High-confidence matches are pre-accepted. Skim the rest, switch any alternate with a right-click, edit inline if you like.

3

Apply & relax

Write correct tags and rename files in one click — fully reversible. Your library is suddenly, beautifully in order.

Powered by a free AcoustID key you create in ~2 minutes — TrackTidy walks you through it on first launch.

Questions, answered

Does it change my actual audio?
Never. TrackTidy only edits the metadata tags and (optionally) the filename. The audio stream is untouched, and every run is fully reversible.
What's this about an AcoustID key?
Identification is powered by the free, open AcoustID service. You create your own free key in about two minutes — TrackTidy links you straight to the page and validates it for you on first launch. This keeps the app fast, private, and with no usage limits tied to anyone else.
Which files does it support?
The formats most libraries are made of: MP3, FLAC, and M4A/AAC. Point it at a folder and it handles the rest.
Is my music sent anywhere?
No. Your files stay on your Mac. TrackTidy computes a small, anonymous acoustic fingerprint of each track and looks that up online — the audio itself never leaves your computer.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, on either Apple Silicon or Intel. It's a single universal app with everything bundled — no Python, no Homebrew, nothing to install.
Do I need to be online?
Only while identifying tracks (that's the database lookup). Reviewing, renaming, applying and undoing all work locally.

Stop scrolling past “Unknown Artist.”

Clean up a lifetime of music in an afternoon.
